SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW ON TRACEABILITY IN THE INDUSTRY: AN APPROACH ORIENTED TO THE PLASTIC SECTOR AND THE VACUUM FORMING PROCESS

Traceability is defined as the ability to track events throughout a product's history, from its origin to the end of its lifecycle.Knowledge of its use began in the 1960s after an article on the quality control of NASA's space systems was published, and it has since been frequently applied in sectors such as food, the pharmaceutical industry, and information technology. In this context, this study aimed to conduct a systematic review of the literature on traceability in the industry with the purpose of identifying traceability techniques that have already been studied and analyzing their relevance to the plastic transformation sector and the vacuum forming process. To achieve this, the terms 'traceability' and 'industry' were searched in the Science Direct database, resulting in the selection of 132 articles. These articles were then classified based on their relevance to the sector and process considered and were grouped into eight relevant thematic classes.A detailed analysis of these thematic classes revealed useful insights into the overall subject of study, particularly within the studied sector and process.
