REABILITAÇÃO FISIOTERAPÊUTICA RESPIRATÓRIA PÓS-COVID-19: REVISÃO INTEGRATIVA DE LITERATURA
The Covid-19 pandemic left infected people with a series of psychophysical problems and complications. One of them was severe cardiorespiratory sequelae that, to this day, requires physiotherapists to use conventional respiratory rehabilitation techniques used in cases of respiratory sequelae that were not caused by Covid-19. The objective of this study was to identify, in the selected literature at a global level, the physiotherapeutic techniques used in patients with acute respiratory sequelae after Covid-19. This is an integrative bibliographic review prepared from scientific works on the role of Physiotherapy directed at patients with severe respiratory sequelae after Covid-19. Original and complete articles (in Portuguese and English) published in the last four years, from 2020 to 2024, obtained from Google Scholar; SciELO, CAPES, PubMed and LILACS websites were selected. The results of this review demonstrated that the physiotherapeutic methods used in post-Covid-19 respiratory treatment are traditional, identical to those used for pulmonary rehabilitation of patients with other respiratory problems. It was shown that conventional respiratory techniques applied to patients with post-Covid-19 sequelae have variable efficacy depending on each organism, physiotherapeutic commitment and patient participation. Therefore, there is still a need in Brazil for new applied research (case reports or experience reports) that present innovative techniques and interventions aimed at the complete and permanent recovery of patients with severe post-Covid-19 respiratory sequelae.
