Minimally Invasive Single-Port Laparoscopic Treatment of a Serous Borderline Ovarian Cyst During Pregnancy
A 41-year-old woman was assessed at 13 weeks of spontaneous pregnancy, with a unilocular right ovarian cyst with a solid, moderately vascularized component (Fig. 1), mildly elevated CA125 of 35.7 kU/ml and magnetic resonance imaging with no signs of peritoneal implants.Histological assessment was recommended and at 19 weeks' gestation, a Fig. 1 Transvaginal ultrasound of the right ovarian cyst. The cyst measured 32 28 mm and appeared unilocular with anechoic content.A single papillary projection (17 21 mm) exhibited moderate vascularization (color score 2), a feature suggestive of a borderline ovarian tumor, helping to distinguish it from a benign ovarian cyst.Standardized criteria were used to describe the cyst, although their reliability during pregnancy remains uncertain.
