JUSTIFICATION OF A STANDARD METHOD FOR TESTING ARMORED VEHICLE PRODUCTS TO ASSESS THE LEVEL OF PROTECTION AGAINST MINE THREATS USING MODERN INFORMATION- MEASUREMENT SYSTEMS
Recent changes in regulatory documents and the adoption of NATO standards have necessitated a transition in the testing process to the testing and certification schemes accepted in NATO countries, particularly in the general approaches to conducting tests. Timely determination of the level of mine protection, aimed at eliminating vulnerabilities and developing more effective technical solutions, is of great importance during the creation and operation of armored vehicles. In addition, it is essential to rationally choose measurement, recording, and indication tools within information-measurement systems and to further process the obtained results in automated data collection and processing systems for use in testing serial (modernized) samples of military equipment. Given the increasing directions of enemy offensives and the use of anti-personnel and anti-tank mines, ensuring a high level of equipment protection has become a priority task for military units. Neglecting this can lead to personnel losses, reduced combat effectiveness of units, and increased resources needed to restore damaged equipment. Therefore, an effective and reliable assessment of the level of mine protection is a crucial criterion for developing and improving competitive protective systems that, above all, ensure the operator of armored vehicles can carry out their mission. The issue of testing armored vehicles to assess the level of protection against mine threats has become highly relevant during the large-scale aggression by russia. Assessing the danger to the crew resulting from an explosion under a combat vehicle is a complex task that depends on many interrelated factors. The ability to conduct measurements during an explosion is an extremely important issue for protecting the crew in armored vehicles and specialized transport vehicles. Such measurements require the use of modern information-measurement systems. The methodology, modern information-measurement systems, and the obtained results can serve as a fundamental check of the factors that determine the level of danger to the crew. In the article, the authors examine changes in the testing process based on new approaches according to regulatory documents and substantiate the methodological apparatus for testing armored vehicle products to assess the level of protection against mine threats in special period conditions, using modern information-measurement systems and taking into account changes in the technology of conducting these tests.
