Multi-Criteria Distribution Energy Management Considering Consumer Behavior

This paper presents a Multi-Criteria Distribution Energy Management (MC-DEM) strategy that accounts for variable power ratings of deferrable household appliances, consumer-defined limits on their number, as well as their different usage probabilities on weekdays and weekends for residential distribution systems. Our multi-criteria based optimal strategy ensures reliable voltage supply, reduces network losses, maximizes resilience and minimizes load switching while maintaining consumer comfort. This paper utilizes the Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation (CRITIC) method to determine the weights of multi criteria and applies Binary Teaching-Learning Based Optimization (BTLBO) Algorithm to find the optimal combination of appliances for switching. The proposed method is evaluated on a modified IEEE 33-bus distribution system under significant overload and high renewable energy integration. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed approach effectively manages network voltage and mitigates challenges associated with renewable energy integration in the residential distribution system.
