LEGITIMAR MODOS DE VIVER: Uma função estratégica para a noção de vulnerabilidade

The objective of this article is to analyze and reflect on ways to expand uses and strategic functions for the notion of vulnerability in the field of public health, based on the contributions of Ayres, Michel Foucault, Didier Fassin and Judith Butler. More specifically, it seeks to expand the ethical-aesthetic-political-conceptual bases for the notion towards the legitimacy of expression of different ways of living and openness to the exercise of subjects' freedom practices. To this end, we made use of the literature review carried out as part of a doctoral thesis, the objective of which was to analyze how the notion of vulnerability became an object of public policy intervention in Brazil, and the ways in which it has been used by professionals in the field. of basic health care in the city of São Paulo – SP. More specifically, we seek to expand the use of the notion of vulnerability in dialogue with the contributions of Michel Foucault and other scholars in the field of biopolitics, such as Didier Fassin and Judith Butler, based on the contributions of José Ricardo Ayres and his research group around the articulation between the subjects' ways of being and their ways of life and their experiences of health or illness.
