NEUROPSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS OF UKRAINIAN CHILDREN CAUSES BY THE WAR
Children who experience the traumatic realities of armed conflict often encounter neuropsychological disorders as a consequence of enduring prolonged periods of trauma. For the impact of the war on their mental health, many children are struggling to cope with the loss of stability and security, which are crucial for the development of higher mental functions. UNICEF records show almost half of children in Ukraine - 44% of children - show signs of potential PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). This means that children find it difficult to concentrate (35% of respondents), get upset easily or get into fights (30% of respondents), feel lonely (27% of respondents), and have trouble sleeping (23% of respondents) [1].
