ASSESSMENT OF THE LOAD-BEARING CAPACITY OF COMPOSITE WOODEN SLEEPERS LAID ON A TRACK

The article considers the feasibility of using transition and bridge beams waste for the production of composite wooden sleepers without the need to process them to standard sizes of railway sleepers. The results of numerical calculation of the bearing capacity of composite wooden sleepers laid in the track are obtained. These results satisfy the regulatory requirements for maximum permissible pressure in the ballast under the sleeper and on the main surface of the roadbed. The calculation of the minimum thickness of the ballast under the composite wooden sleeper is given, confirming the possibility of meeting the requirement for loads of up to 15 kN, which corresponds to the operating conditions of the track upper-structure for non-public and low-traffic tracks
