DESEMPENHO FÍSICOS EM IDOSOS SEDENTÁRIOS
In the study with 30 sedentary elderly individuals between 60 and 80 years of age, physical and functional capacity tests were performed. In the 6-Minute Walk Test, the elderly individuals aged 60 to 69 years walked an average of 4 meters, while those aged 70 to 79 and 80 years walked 5 and 6 meters, respectively. In the Lawton Scale, which assesses independence in instrumental activities, most elderly individuals showed a need for help, showing that dependence increases with age. In the Katz Scale, 37% of the elderly individuals aged 60 to 69 years, 43% of those aged 70 to 79 years and 20% of those aged 80 years maintained independence in basic self-care activities.
