O IMPACTO DO PRECONCEITO NA SAÚDE MENTAL DE MULHERES TRANS

This project aimed to understand the difficulties that trans women encounter throughout the process of recognizing their identity, considering the prejudice that society expresses. The method proposed for the research was a case study, as it allows greater understanding of the topic addressed. To this end, semi-structured interviews were carried out and recorded and transcribed, serving as the basis for the final texts. The sample size was convenience due to the proposed method and the difficulty of finding individuals who are available to participate in the research. The results obtained were analyzed using discourse analysis. It was possible to observe various forms of discrimination experienced by these women, as well as how these situations affected and continue to impact their mental health. Access to adequate psychological support, together with public policies that guarantee their rights, can promote a better quality of life for these women.
