The Role of Human F3/TF (TISSUE FACTOR) In The Thrombotic Complications In Pneumonia
Human F3/TF (Tissue factor) linking severe systemic inflammation and thrombotic microangiopathies. Aim was to determine the diagnostic and prognostic role of TF in inpatients with COVID-19 via bacterial pneumonia. Materials and methods: We observed 3 groups: Main (1) – 85 patients (age – 59 (52; 65) years, men – 45 (52.9%)), hospitalized with pneumonia with confirmed (PCR) COVID-19, divided into 3 subgroups: subgroup 1 – 40 moderate cases, subgroup 2 – 25 severe, subgroup 3 – 20 critical; Comparison (2) – 55 patients (age – 48.9 (34; 62) years, men – 30 (54.5%)), hospitalized with CABP; Control (3) – 25 healthy volunteers (age – 50.0 (35; 65) years, men – 13 (52.0%)). General clinical, plasma TF (ELISA Kit) on admission before anticoagulants. Results: TF in admission was significantly higher in patients with COVID-19, р1-2=0.028, р1-3=0.015, р2-3=0.001. <fig><object-id>erj;64/suppl_68/PA2408/F1</object-id><object-id>F1</object-id><object-id>F1</object-id><graphic></graphic></fig> It exceeds the Control group in 80 times and CABP – in more than in 36 times. It was a strong correlation with COVID-19 severity and mortality. <fig><object-id>erj;64/suppl_68/PA2408/F2</object-id><object-id>F2</object-id><object-id>F2</object-id><graphic></graphic></fig> Conclusions: increased TF more than 1,23 pg/ml is associated with higher risk of mortality, which is extremely promising from drug perspective.
