DigiPat: Respiratory diseases and digital Health Apps

Introduction: Demographic change in Germany results in an increasing proportion of older people. At the same time there is a strong shift towards eHealth. Currently There are 56 Digital health applications (DiGAs) and over 300.000 Health Apps (HA) available. Yet, it seems that the adherence and acceptance is low. Digas with a respiratory focus represent less than 1 % of the apps prescribed (DiGA-Report 2023). Aims and objectives: With this pre-study we want to gain better understanding of factors leading to the gap between offer and low adherence of DiGAs and HA. Methods: A paper based questionnaire was distributed in two respiratory practices and one university Clinique between November 2023 and February 2024. Besides digital Devices we asked for App-Usage and contact preferences. The interim analysis of n=251 cases of this questionnaire compares the Digital Index 2024 (publishing 22 Feb.) with the first insights of the DigiPat. Results: Figure 1 shows that there are only minor differences between the DigitalIndex 23-24 and DigiPat. Conclusions: The descriptive, interims Analysis shows, that there are only minor differences in the results. The follow up question might be, why the adherence is low. Nevertheless, there is a clear correlation between smartphone use and age in the case of both the Digital Index and DigiPat. <fig><object-id>erj;64/suppl_68/PA2521/F1</object-id><object-id>F1</object-id><object-id>F1</object-id><graphic></graphic></fig>
