The impact of mutation analysis on prognosis in advanced-stage lung adenocarcinoma

We aimed to investigate the value of mutation analysis results in predicting progression-free(PFS) and overall survival(OS) followed up as advanced stage lung adenocarcinoma which importance of mutations and targeted therapies are important day by day. Between 2018-2023, advanced lung adenocarcinoma patients that pathology/cytology samples obtained through FOB-EBUS, proven adenocarcinoma were included. Mutation analysis (Next-generation sequencing), PFS and OS were retrospectively analyzed. 79.8% of patients had at least one mutation and the most common mutations were EGFR amp, KRAS exon 2 and MET amp. All mutations have been analyzed for PFS and OS. OS was statistically significantly lower in patients with KRAS exon 2 mutation. <fig><object-id>erj;64/suppl_68/PA4233/F1</object-id><object-id>F1</object-id><object-id>F1</object-id><graphic></graphic></fig> <table-wrap><object-id>erj;64/suppl_68/PA4233/T1</object-id><object-id>T1</object-id><object-id>t1</object-id><table><colgroup><col></col><col></col><col></col><col></col></colgroup><tbody><tr><td></td><td></td><td> OS Month Mean </td><td> Log-Rank p value </td></tr><tr><td>Mutation</td><td>Detected</td><td>37,99</td><td>0,910</td></tr><tr><td></td><td>Not-Detected</td><td>28,46</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>EGFR amp</td><td>Detected</td><td>43,88</td><td>0,469</td></tr><tr><td></td><td>Not-Detected</td><td>28,45</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>KRAS exon 2</td><td>Detected</td><td>18,11</td><td>0,028</td></tr><tr><td></td><td>Not-Detected</td><td>40,73</td><td></td></tr><tr><td>MET amp</td><td>Detected</td><td>37,26</td><td>0,069</td></tr><tr><td></td><td>Not-Detected</td><td>36,41</td><td></td></tr></tbody></table></table-wrap> It was demonstrated that a high percentage had at least one mutation detected using NGS, and among the identified mutations, the most common were EGFR-associated mutations. Abstract
