As Sweet as Success
“There is only one thing that makes a dream impossible to achieve: the fear of failure.” Paulo Coelho (The Alchemist) A not-so-impossible dream has been achieved! Friends and readers, it gives me, and all the editorial board members, great pleasure to inform you that the Amrita Journal of Medicine (AJM) is now indexed under the directory of open-access journals (DOAJ). All articles of the online version, from the first Issue of 2020 onwards, are now in the DOAJ repository. It is indeed a great sense of satisfaction that our efforts have borne fruit. Even as we take quiet pride in this achievement, we do not intend to rest on our laurels. AJM looks forward to receiving more submissions from across the country. The peer review process will be further sharpened to enable the publication of quality articles and to aim for higher levels of indexation. Coming back to the present issue, there is yet again a wide variety on offer. The two review articles span across totally different aspects of healthcare in hospitals. The four original research articles are studies of noncommunicable diseases, and a specific medical and surgical condition each. The two case reports depict genuinely rare situations. All of these are sure to spark the interest of our readers. Please do encourage and support AJM as we stride ahead into 2025. As for the indexation success, I reflect on our efforts over the last few years, and agree with past US President, Harry Truman: “It is amazing what you can accomplish if you do not care who gets the credit.” Financial support and sponsorship Nil. Conflicts of interest There are no conflicts of interest.
