The pollinators/visitors diversity on coriander (Coriandrum sativum)
Noticed that coriander blooms were being pollinated by ten distinct species of visitors/pollinators belonging to following five orders: Diptera, Lepidoptera, Hemiptera, Coleoptera and Hymenoptera. Among honey bees, Apis cerana indica was observed to be the most significant pollinator, closely followed by Apis dorsata, Apis mellifera and Apis florea. In addition to other pollinators and visitors, including Eristalis sp., Musca domestica, Danaus chrysippus, Dysdercus cingulatus, Coccinella septumpunctata and Chrysomya bezzianna, were visiting on coriander flower.
