Assessment of plant growth regulators impact on growth, yield attributes, yield and quality of okra [Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) Moench] cv. lsquo;Prabhani Krantirsquo;

The present investigation was carried out at Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur (Rajasthan) during 2023-24. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) which comprises of ten treatments viz; Control (T0), GA3 @ 50 ppm (T1), GA3 @ 100 ppm (T2), GA3 @ 150 ppm ppm (T3), NAA @ 50 ppm (T4), NAA @ 100 ppm (T5), NAA @ 150 ppm (T6), Ethrel @ 50 ppm (T7), Ethrel @ 100 ppm (T8) and Ethrel @ 150 ppm (T9) and treatments were replicated three times. The various concentrations of GA3, NAA and Ethrel had significant effect on various vegetative growth, yield and quality parameters and the minimum (40.07 days) took to 50% flowering and (46. 95 days) for first fruit picking and the maximum (42.56 cm) and (78.70 cm) plant height at 45 and 60 DAS, (14.16) and (19.73) leaves per plant, minimum (40.07 days) took to 50% flowering and (46.95 days) for first fruit picking and (26.65) flowers per plant, (22.85) okra fruits per plant, (15.61 cm) fruit length, (2.42 cm) fruit diameter, (20.51 g) fruit weight and (24.45 mg/ 100 g) vitamin C and highest (485.62 g/plant) and (24.28 t/ha) okra yield were recorded under GA3 @ 100 ppm (T2) treatment. However, NAA @ 100 ppm (T5) treatment produced the maximum (4.24) branches per plant and foliar sprayed GA3, NAA and Ethrel showed the non-significant effect on fiber content. Results further indicated that the maximum net return (₹ 3,38, 840.47/ha) with highest B: C ratio (4.25) of okra production was recorded under GA3 @ 100 ppm (T2) treatment. Whereas, the inferior results were observed under control (T0) treatment.
