Genotype times; environment interaction studies in scented rice (Oryza sativa L.) genotypes
Genotype × environment interaction has been investigated for grain yield and its corresponding attributes like days to 50 percent flowering, plant height, productive tillers/plant, panicle length, total spikelets/panicle, fertile spikelets/panicle, spikelets fertility percent, 1000-grain weight, grain yield/plant, Fe content, Zn content and amylose content in sixteen scented rice genotypes across three environments during kharif 2023. When the characters are examined against the G × E interaction, the genotype and the environment significantly vary with respect to each character. Genotype × Environment (linear) when tested against pooled error proved significant for the characters except productive tillers/plant, 1000-grain weight, Zn content and Amylose content indicated the prediction of performance of the genotype over the environment could be possible, suggested that it would be feasible to forecast how a genotype would behave in a given environment. The genotypes, GAR 14, Dubraj selection, NVSR 697, BRR 2177, Indrayani showed average stability for grain yield/plant. The genotypes Shobini recorded the above average stability for the grain yield/plant, Plant height and amylose content. The four genotypes, GAR 14, Dubraj selection, BRR 2177 and NVSR 697 exhibited average stability for grain yield/plant along with other parameters. The genotype Pusa 1176-91-1-3-2-1-1-7 recorded below average stability for days to 50 percent flowering, panicle length, 1000-grain weight, grain yield/plant, Fe content, Zn content.
