Response of growth, yield attributes and yield to foliar application of CCC, GA3 and NAA in okra [Abelmoschus esculentus (L.) moench] cv. lsquo;Varsha Upharrsquo;

The present investigation was carried out at Suresh Gyan Vihar University, Jaipur (Rajasthan) during 2023-24. The experiment was laid out in Randomized Block Design (RBD) which comprises of ten treatments viz; Control (T0), CCC @ 200 ppm (T1), CCC @ 400 ppm (T2), CCC @ 600 ppm (T3), GA3 @ 50 ppm (T4), GA3 @ 100 ppm (T5), GA3 @ 150 ppm (T6), NAA @ 100 ppm (T7), NAA @ 150 ppm (T8) and NAA @ 200 ppm (T9) and treatments were replicated three times. The various concentrations of CCC, GA3 and NAA had significant effect on various vegetative growth, yield and quality parameters and the minimum (41.07 days) took to 50% flowering and (47.59 days) for first fruit picking and maximum (4.22) branches per plant, (26.41) flowers per plant, (22.19) okra fruits per plant, (15.51 cm) fruit length, (2.35 cm) fruit diameter, (18.41 g) fruit weight, (3.39%) fiber content and (24.45 mg/ 100 g) vitamin C and highest (423.79 g/plant) and (21.19 t/ha) okra yield were recorded under GA3 @ 100 ppm (T5) treatment. However, the maximum (42.33 cm), (78.36 cm), (87.69 cm) and (92.28 cm) plant height at 45, 60, 75 and 90 DAS, respectively, maximum (13.83) leaves per plant were recorded under GA3 @150 ppm (T6) treatment. Results further indicated that the maximum net return (₹.2, 91, 036.85 /ha) with highest B: C ratio (3.87) of okra production was recorded under GA3 @ 100 ppm (T5) treatment Whereas, the inferior results were observed under control (T0) treatment.
