Agricultural landscapes through a cultural lens: An analytical study of regional practices in India
This article explores the cultural geography of agriculture in India, focusing on how local practices and beliefs shape agricultural methods and landscapes across various regions. By examining case studies from Punjab, Rajasthan, Kerala, and West Bengal, we highlight the interplay between culture and agriculture, illustrating how traditions influence farming techniques, crop choices, and land use. The study reveals the significance of integrating cultural perspectives into agricultural policies. The findings underscore that agriculture in India is not just an economic activity but a cultural practice intertwined with local identities and histories.
