Effective Prevention and Treatment of Acute Leukemias in Mice by Activation of Thermogenic Adipose Tissues (Adv. Sci. 38/2024)

Anti‐Leukemia by Activation of Thermogenic Adipose Tissues In article number 2402332, Yihai Cao, Yunlong Yang, Yuguo Chen, Yuanfu Xu, and colleagues report that activating thermogenic adipose tissues (TATs) by cold exposure or β3‐adrenergic receptor agonists markedly alleviated development and progression of acute myeloid leukemia and acute lymphoblastic leukemia. The cover portrays a TAT troop clothed in brown (brown adipocytes) assailing a leukemia cell in an icy and snowy milieu. This study indicate that targeting tissues outside of cancer could be an antileukemia therapy. Art by Zhichao Xu. [Image: see text]
