ORIENTATION TOWARDS COPING WITH PSYCHOLOGICAL PROBLEMS IN LEARNING ACTIVITIES IN STUDENTS WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS OF DISPOSITIONAL OPTIMISM
He article presents the results of the study on orientation towards coping with psychological problems in learning activities in students with different levels of dispositional optimism. The comparative analysis (p ≤ 0.01) shows that dispositional optimism is significantly more pronounced among female students than male ones. Significant statistical differences (p ≤ 0.05) are found between groups with different levels of dispositional optimism on the indicators “Study difficulties and problems with the future”, “Orientation to threat signals” and “Orientation to opportunities”. The results show that students with a high level of dispositional optimism have a statistically significantly lower level of problem aggravation on the scale “Difficulties with studies and problems with the future”. But when psychological problems arise, they more often direct their efforts to approach difficulties, pay attention to threat signals and try to recognise opportunities that can be used to resolve difficulties.
