SELETIVIDADE ALIMENTAR EM CRIANÇAS COM TRANSTORNO DO ESPECTRO AUTISMO
Food is essential for the good physical and psychological development of patients with ASD. However, it is understood that each child diagnosed with ASD has different needs, hence the importance of an individualized diet due to the distinct needs of each one. The study aims to understand the difficulties of inserting new healthy eating habits in children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), researching possible strategies to implement in the daily lives of these individuals and encourage them to have a good diet. To achieve success in this study, bibliographic reviews were carried out using academic and scientific sources collected in databases such as SciELO, google scholar, integrative nutrition journals, among others, with a qualitative approach. Knowing that children with ASD have food selectivity and in some cases can be harmful to health due to the food restriction that the child himself is subject to, so it is important to have a nutrition professional to help him in an adequate diet and in an educational way so that he does not grow malnourished or obese. Nutritional strategies are used to reduce food selectivity, in this process it requires time and dedication from professionals and family members to influence them to have a healthy and nutritious diet.
