NUTRIÇÃO EM CÃES ONCOLÓGICOS E SEU MANEJO ALIMENTAR COMO COADJUVANTE NO TRATAMENTO A NEOPLASIAS
This study aims to investigate the role of nutrition as an adjunctive tool in the treatment of neoplasms in dogs. Neoplasms are one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in dogs, and adequate nutrition aims to improve the quality of life of these patients. In this literature review, we examine the pathophysiology of neoplasms, specific nutritional needs, and the impact of nutrients on treatment support. Additionally, we discuss dietary strategies to enhance the quality of life of dogs, proper supplementation, ways to stimulate food intake, and the importance of nutritional monitoring during treatment. The dietary management of oncology patients aims to promote well-being, meet their energy needs, improve treatment response, and prolong patient life. Through the literature review, this work provides valuable information on how nutrition can be integrated as a fundamental part of managing dogs with neoplasms.
