Proper duration of antibiotics after video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery for the treatment of thoracic empyema
This study reinforces that antibiotic durations less than 14 days post-VATS are equally effective as prolonged antibiotic durations. However, to determine the proper duration of antibiotic therapy post-VATS, a prospective clinical trial is needed to reduce complications of prolonged antibiotic therapies for these patients.
