Enhancing Cleanroom Flexibility Using Raspberry Pi-Based Door Control
In this paper, a door interlocking system is introduced, focusing on its central module. The system integrates hardware and software for secure and efficient control of clean room doors. It includes a central module, door, and access control modules. The central module, based on the Raspberry Pi 4B, hosts the user interface for data display and interlock configuration. The microcontroller translates CAN bus messages and communicates with the Raspberry Pi via UART, acting as a gateway and message buffer. The module incorporates an uninterruptible power supply with a small lead-acid battery, enabling the Raspberry Pi to safely halt in case of an external power supply failure. Additionally, the paper provides a brief review on Raspberry Pi applications in a wide range of industries.
