B2B Data-Sharing Platform Combining Galileo OSNMA and Blockchain Applied to Traceable Short Food Supply Chains and Sustainable Farming
Data trustworthiness is a key aspect in the Digital Era, as benefits can be sought by maliciously altering their creation time, location or identity. Taking advantage ofblockchain and Galileo Open Service Navigation Message Authentication (OSNMA), this article brings an innovative integrated data-sharing infrastructure for the agrifood domain. The two main use cases deal with traceability in all stages of the supply chain and sustainability in the farming practices, respectively. Algorithms for OSNMA-based authentication and Environmental Sustainability Index (ESI) scoring are, then, presented. On the basis of these calculations, the general flows for data provision and consumption are established, making the global solution interoperable, scalable and accurate. Experimental results from two different pilots are driven, giving the path to the adoption of this solution in other relevant domains.
