The Risks and Danger of Smart Devices Exposing Personal Information: Dark Side of Convenience

Although smart devices provide simplicity and connection, they also present significant risks and vulnerability to our privacy and security, since they unintentionally expose personal data to other entities. This article examines the potential threats of smart electronic devices, which might unintentionally expose our confidential information to promotion, service providers, hackers, government agencies, and other individuals, so compromising our privacy. The fundamental vulnerabilities of smart technology, such as the unintentional release of data and data transmission, emphasize the immediate need for privacy solutions and user consciousness. The authors have derived their results from an analysis of the existing literature and the examination of relevant events and happenings. Their objective is to condense the connections between threats, information, and precautionary measures, drawing on previous experiences. The findings indicate that addressing the dangers and taking measures to counter them need an ongoing struggle on the part of users, highlighting the crucial role of increasing knowledge and selecting appropriate tools.
