Optimization Method of Inductive Reactive Power Compensation Scheme for Regional 220kV Power Grid
Voltage and reactive power control is becoming an increasingly urgent task as the complexity of electric power systems (EPS) increases, power transmission increases and various types of generation are connected to high voltage levels. Maintaining and enhancing power quality is the main concern in power systems. Based on the annual voltage of the 220kV substations, the standard deviation of the average voltage and the upper voltage control limit of the substations are calculated to analyze the regional reactive power compensation and demands in this paper. Then, the inductive reactive power compensation capacity of the substation is calculated according to the outgoing line charging power of the substation. Combined with the configured reactive power compensation capacity of 220kV substations, the demand for reactive power capacity of each 220kV substation is calculated. Finally, the index of inductive reactive power compensation of the 220kV substation is defined and the objective function is established. The effectiveness and adaptability of the proposed method are verified by a regional power grid.
