Improving Terahertz Antenna Performance Using PCB-Based Integrated Fabry-Perot Cavity
This paper introduces an integrated Fabry-Perot cavity (IFPC) architecture to improve terahertz (THz) planar antenna performances. The IFPC method combines the advantages of metal waveguides and PCB processing while achieving high radiation efficiency and aperture efficiency. A 220 GHz high-gain (> 30 dBi) slot array (SA) antenna and a 400 GHz leaky-wave antenna are designed, validating the effectiveness of this structure in boresight and titled beam antenna applications. The introduced method significantly improves the design flexibility of the high-gain THz antenna and reduces its costs, which is suitable for the massive production of the THz antennas.
