CONAE Argentine Airborne L-Band SAR System
This paper presents details of the engineering of the first airborne SAR developed in Argentina, which was operational during the period 2005–2015 and was mainly used as a techno-logical demonstrator for the SAOCOM (Argentine Microwave Observation Satellites) satellite mission. However, SARAT (SAR Aero transported) data have been used in studies beyond its initial purpose in a variety of applications. The objective of this paper is to provide detailed information on the instrument that will serve as a basis for the mentioned applications, as well as for the refunctionalization of the SARAT system that is currently in progress
