Initial Two-Plot Correlation Method of Track Initiation Using Two-Dimensional Pulsed Doppler Radar
Aiming at the problem of poor performance of two-plot correlation in traditional track initiation using two-dimensional pulsed Doppler radar, a new initial two-plot correlation method is proposed. First, the two-dimensional vector, which is constructed by the difference between the Doppler measurements of the two traces and the Doppler velocity calculations, is assumed to satisfy the two-dimensional normal distribution. Next, the mean and covariance of the vector are deduced theoretically by using Taylor series approximation method. Finally, the wave gate function is constructed and the trace correlation method is carried out. The proposed method can fully utilize Doppler information, which can result in higher two-plot correlation probability. Simulation results show the effectiveness and good performance of the proposed method.
