Investigating EEG Biomarker Profiles Across Neurodegenerative Disease States
The study aims to apply and analyze significant EEG biomarkers that can differentiate between healthy controls, AD (Alzheimer's), and FTD (front temporal dementia). Spectrogram analysis and frequency peak detection reveal distinctive patterns. In AD, decreased alpha power and increased theta power are noted, alongside altered peak frequencies. FTD exhibits aberrations in alpha, theta, and beta powers, coupled with disruptions in Katz fractal dimension norms. Healthy controls display normative EEG patterns. Additionally, Phase Lag Index (PLI) matrices unveil connectivity differences. These findings highlight EEG's potential in diagnosing and differentiating neurodegenerative disorders. EEG biomarkers offer insights into disease mechanisms and could aid in early detection and personalized management strategies.
