Multidisciplinary Strategy in Final Computer Science Projects to Increase Graduation
The Computer Science Final Project is often a challenging requirement for graduation in Argentina. This leads to delays and people leaving. In the present work, an approach has proven efficient in recovering students who had left or extended their careers by getting the final work started and developed sustainably. The multidisciplinary approach is based on collaboration among tutors from different disciplines within the Faculty of Engineering. They work together to develop research projects and software for external institutions. Furthermore, the framework of a traditional course provides an organizational structure that facilitates both the generation of the proposal and the planning, execution, and completion of these projects within a reasonable timeframe. This paper presents the survey's results to validate the effectiveness from the students' perspective, conclusions, and next steps.
