Research on 1.0 Terahertz Carbon-based Backward Wave Oscillator
This article is focused on the research of 1THz carbon-based backward wave oscillator (BWO), which uses single-beam staggered double-grating considered as a high-frequency structure, in which the graphene coating is used to increase the output power. According to the particle in cell (PIC) simulation, using a pen electron beam with a voltage of 25kV and a current of 15mA, the output power is 451mW and the oscillation frequency is 1014GHz without graphene. The output power is 1026mW and the oscillation frequency is 1013GHz after adding graphene. The output power is enhanced two times with the coating of graphene. These results show that carbon-based materials have broad application prospects in the field of terahertz radiation sources..
