Seven-Band Complete Graphene Absorber Assisted by Metamaterial Concept for Optoelectronics and Engineering Technologies
This paper presents a numerical study of a metamaterial absorber combining two fundamental methods to generate the multi-frequency bands absorption. These methods are (i) creating a cut on the surface of graphene and (ii) realizing a hole in silicon dioxide. The proposed structure consists of three layers including a cut graphene layer, and a gold layer on a silicon oxide dielectric layer with a cube-shaped cavity in the center. Its seven resonance absorption peaks occurred at 6.08 THz, 6.4 THz, 7.1 THz, 7.32 THz, 7.92 THz, 9.21 THz, and 9.66 THz are 91.2%, 99.5%, 97.7%, 94.3%, 97.8%, 91.1%, and 97.7%, respectively. The results demonstrate that the absorption value over all seven bands is above 90% making the proposed multi-layers absorber potentially applicable for many applications in optoelectronics and engineering technologies.
