Design of A G-band High-output Traveling Wave Tube Slow Wave Structure and Collector
With the developments of terahertz technologies and vacuum electronic devices, the traveling wave tube (TWT) has become a significant amplifier for high-power THz waves. The slow wave structure (SWS) is a key component TWT. This article designs a SWS for a high-output TWT. The design and simulation of the folded waveguide (FW) SWS and collector for G-band TWT were completed using CST simulation software. The simulation results show that the maximum output power is 114W, and the bandwidth for power above 100 W is 7 GHz. To enhance the efficiency of G-band TWT, this article also designs a collector for energy recycling. The recycling efficiency of the collector is larger than 80%.
