Fast Modeling of Wind Farms Considering Equipment Shutdown under Natural Disasters

Most of previous work on equivalent modeling of wind farms usually only considered normal operating conditions and ignored the situations of equipment shutdown under natural disasters. In this paper, based on Power System Analysis Software Package (PSASP), a method for fast modeling of wind farms is presented to incorporate these situations. By utilizing the data storage characteristics of the software and the established simulation model under normal operating conditions, the method focuses on automatically constructing simulation data describing the operation conditions under natural disasters for detailed and equivalent models of wind farms, as well as large-scale power grid models. Simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
