A Combination of the SMC Controller with the PI Controller for Brushless DC Motor Speed Control

The excellent speed-torque behavior of brushless DC (BLDC) motors makes them widely used in both electrical car and industrial applications. Speed regulation of the BLDC motor is required because of its extremely wide speed range. There are numerous controllers available for BLDC motor speed control. One of these, the sliding-mode controller, regulates the motor's speed while taking certain erratic circumstances into account. The disadvantage of some variation in the motor's speed behavior is limited to the SMC controller for BLDC motors. Therefore, a PI controller and SMC controller combination is suggested in this work for the BLDC motor. A simulation using MATLAB was run to look at the behaviour of the BLDC motor
