Simulation and Experimental Analysis of the Thermal Characteristics of the Electromagnetic System of Circuit Breaker with Oil Dashpot
The heat of the electromagnetic system in circuit breaker with oil dashpot is mainly due to the loss of the core and the resistance of the coil, the 3D model of contact system and electromagnetic system of circuit breaker with oil dashpot is established in ANSYS to analyze the thermal characteristics of the electromagnetic system. Firstly, the heat rate of each part can be obtained by the calculation of the hysteresis loss and eddy current loss of the core and power loss of the coil. Secondly, the heat rate is applied to the finite element model of electromagnetic system, then the temperature distribution of coil, core, oil cup and damping fluid are obtained through the steady temperature field simulation analysis. In addition, the temperature variation of the electromagnetic system and damping fluid at different ambient temperatures are also analyzed. Finally, the temperature- rise of the coil is measured by the experiment. By comparing the simulated data and the measured data, the correctness of the simulation results is verified. This provides a new reference for the research and development of circuit breaker with oil dashpot.
