Renewable Power Integrated Island Microgrid based Frequency Controller
Due to their tremendous financial benefits and ecofriendly features, microgrids are becoming more and more acknowledged as essential parts of the energy systems of the future. They are essential in tackling the problem of balancing the supply and demand for energy, especially in the context of integrating renewable energy sources like wind power in the remote areas. However, frequency management in microgrids faces difficulties due to the erratic and intermittent nature of renewable energy, particularly during islanded operations. Managing frequency fluctuations resulting from load disturbances and system variable changes is the main focus. Thus, an optimal frequency control is made to minimize the frequency fluctuations even in presence of load and renewable source power uncertainties. This paper investigates a linear quadratic regulator-based control method of grid frequency control for microgrids that are mostly fuel by renewable energy sources.
