The Problem of Incestual Sexual Violence in the Lot Family: A Hermeneutics of Suspicion on Genesis 19:30-38 Based on the Probability of Psycho-Theological and Socio-Theological Factors
This research shows that the issue of incest sexual violence in Lot's family, as recorded in the narrative of Genesis 19: 30-38, is a complex problem. The problem includes psycho-theological and socio-theological issues. The method used in this paper is qualitative method with a hermeneutic of suspicion approach. The results of the study show that incest in Lot's family is sexual violence that involves the probability of several factors. First, the condition of baby fever was experienced by Lot's daughters. Second, the probability of the Westermarck effect and Electra complex. Third, the factor of alcohol intoxication is the cause of Lot's sexual aggressiveness. Fourth, the solid patriarchal cultural demands of Lot's daughters. Baby fever is the most rational and dominant factor of these four factors based on the explicit explanation in Genesis 19:30-38.
