Integrating Seismic and Well Data for Cementation Limit Determination: A Case Study in the Upper Arab D Reservoir, Sour Gas Field in the SW of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates
Abstract The objective of this paper is to demonstrate the advantages of integrating seismic and well data in the Upper Arab D Reservoir for defining the cementation limit (CML) and improving the reliability of field and reservoir dimension for Gas in Place estimation by employing a scientific method that includes data interpretation, attribute analysis, and reservoir characterization to minimize uncertainties. The results demonstrate the value of this methodology, providing a fuller understanding of reservoir heterogeneity (porous and cemented rocks) and enabling reduced GIP estimation uncertainty. This approach contributes significantly to reservoir management strategies, aiding in reservoir modeling and development planning in the complex reservoirs of the Upper Arab D. The process of continuously updating the CML grid and integrating it into the reservoir model progresses geological understanding and improves operational decision making for future development wells.
