Operational Excellence: Re-Think Beyond Reuse, Reduce, Recycle in the Circular Economy
Abstract The increased demand for remanufactured parts marks a paradigm shift for oil and gas operators. As companies seek to achieve their individual sustainability goals, returning core equipment parts and choosing remanufactured parts are both key tactics to help reduce waste and make sustainability gains. Returned parts and assemblies are disassembled to their piece parts, cleaned and inspected before undergoing processes such as laser cladding, machining, metal deposition and other advanced salvage procedures. The remanufactured parts are then assembled into like-new components with like-new quality and warranty. This enables oil and gas companies to benefit from using high-quality and economical parts while supporting the circular economy. This paper will share data and examples from the field that illustrate how the responsible use of remanufactured parts impacts the circular economy in the EMEA region.
