Visual rehabilitation of a case of keratoglobus with ICL
This case report presents the management of a 21-year-old male with high myopic status and keratoglobus seeking refractive surgery. The patient exhibited severe myopia, poor vision, and diffuse corneal thinning with steepening in both eyes. Preoperative evaluations included corneal topography, anterior chamber depth, and pachymetry measurements. A surgical plan involving toric implantable collamer lenses (ICLs) was devised. Subsequent eye surgeries, with appropriate adjustments, resulted in improved visual acuity. This case underscores the challenges of ICL surgery in keratoglobus, the importance of meticulous preoperative assessment, and the need for individualized surgical approaches.
