On the Vector Network Analyzer Measurement Results Obtained After SOLT and SOLR Calibration Methods, and Comparison with HFSS Results
Accuracy of SOLT (Short-Open-Load-Thru) calibration method on the subsequent measurements of S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">21</inf> phase, as well as S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">11</inf> and S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">21</inf> magnitudes, is analyzed against the offset-delay value of the coaxial thru standard used in the VNA (Vector Network Analyzer) calibration. Also, the experimental results obtained after VNA calibration with SOLT method are compared with those obtained after VNA calibration with SOLR (Short-Open-Load-Reciprocal) method. Coaxial adapters, as well as a two-port passive and reciprocal circuit are used as devices under test. For the two-port circuit, comparisons with HFSS (High Frequency Simulator Software) results are also provided.
