A Study of Six-Port Reflectometer for Wideband Frequency Range using $90^{\circ}$ Hybrid Coupler
Vector Network Analyzer (VNA) is widely used in microwave imaging applications, recently. In addition, the VNA is also used as a transmitter and receiver, which is known as transceiver. However, the VNAs have shortcomings in terms of size, weight, and price. Thus, an alternative approach has been investigated to be replaced, by using the six-port reflectometers. The types of the six-port reflectometers consist of a passive device, such as coupler and power divider. In this paper, the investigation of the six-port reflectometer is focused on the coupler with a wideband frequency range of 1 to 6 GHz. This six-port reflectometer is analyzed by using the Agilent's Advanced Design System (ADS) simulation. The obtained simulation results successfully meet the expected specifications of the designation. Thus, this study is expected to be well operated in wideband frequency range.
