Rapid Simulation Method for Electro-Pneumatic Composite Braking System Based on Equivalent Modeling

Ahstract-The electro-pneumatic braking system (EPBS), abbreviated as the braking system, serves as a crucial safety measure for the smooth operation of high-speed trains. Currently, research on the characteristics of electro-pneumatic braking heavily relies on AMESim co-simulation. However, this approach suffers from slow simulation speed due to increased model complexity, data exchange, and communication delays, significantly hindering the development of online simulation for braking system. To address this issue, this paper proposes a rapid simulation method for EPBS based on equivalent models, which substantially reduces simulation time while ensuring accuracy. Experimental results demonstrate an accuracy of 97.91% for the equivalent EP valve model, 99.32% for the equivalent empty-load valve model, 98.99% for the equivalent relay valve model, and 98.99% for the equivalent brake cylinder model. Furthermore, the equivalent EPBS simulation exhibits a speed enhancement of 16.98 times compared to co-simulation, thereby offering a new approach to accelerating the simulation of braking system.
