Reliable IPS model for eLCMS Service and Files Protection

Cybersecurity is critical to the long-term viability of distance learning systems which motivated especially during the pandemics and war. Electronic learning(e-Learning) systems have evolved as a necessity to cover all e-learning paradigms, including virtual classrooms, assignments, and assessments, employing a variety of document file types to interchange. Like all IT systems, an e-Learning Content Management System (eLCMS) faces increased risks with the widespread use of the file sharing, as hacker’s exploit vulnerabilities to gain access to eLCMS servers or services and violate user’s devices and accounts privacy. We propose three phases protection model to exchanges files between eLCMS parties. In the first phase we check the eLCMS services before the new file access to verify any illegal change status of the services (off /on) to avoid DoS. The second phase files characteristics (name, extension -doc, pdf, png-, size, …etc) features matched against a stored lexical files signature by using similarity Levenshtein algorithm to share or store files in eLCMS directories safely. The Third phase a dynamic detection for SQL injected code in the new comes files using interleaved Levenshtein algorithm. Our proposed IPS detects all infiltration threats into eLCMS warehouse directories and issues warning messages successfully as well as the prevention Intrusion through effective isolation and anti-SQL injected code methods.
