A 3.5 GHz Single-Band Rectifier For 5G RF Energy Harvesting Systems

Motivated by the increasing demand for efficient energy harvesting in next-generation wireless applications, this paper introduces a 3.5 GHz single-band rectifier designed for RF energy harvesting systems, employing a single-stub matching network technique. The rectifier utilizes a single diode and is constructed on an RT/Duroid 5880 substrate, with dimensions of 25 mm x 12 mm x 1.575 mm. Simulation and measurement results indicate efficiencies of 62.08% and 59.38% at 0 dBm input power, respectively. The rectifier delivers a rectified voltage of 1.702 V DC across a 3 kΩ load (RL) at an input power of 10 dBm. The rectifier's ability to efficiently harvest energy from low-power inputs makes it ideal for 5G technologies, indicating its potential to be integral in creating self-sustaining 5G networks.
