DEMOCRACY IN GLOBAL AND NATIONAL DISCOURSES
The article attempts an interdisciplinary study of the relationship between the forms of modern democracy and its essence in the context of global and national discourses. The priority of forms of direct political participation over individualized sovereignty of the people in quality democracy is argued. Promising areas of interdisciplinary research are the problems of balancing the forms of democracy and securing it from the manipulations of political elites.
